अश्वेत महिलाएं दुनिया की सबसे खूबसूरत और रंग-बिरंगी महिलाओं में से एक हैं। हमारे अनगिनत रंग हैं, बालों की बनावट कितनी ही तरह की है... आंखों के रंग और शरीर के रूप-रंग अलग-अलग हैं। इस पीढ़ी में यह देखकर दुख होता है कि बहुत सी अश्वेत लड़कियां किसी मर्द को इंप्रेस करने या खुद को 'विदेशी' (एक्जॉटिक) दिखाने की उम्मीद में उन जातियों का दावा करती हैं जिनके बारे में वे कुछ नहीं जानतीं। बहुत से लोग ऐसे पेश आते हैं जैसे अश्वेत होना और सुंदर होना नामुमकिन हो। पर ऐसा बिल्कुल नहीं है। अगर हम गहराई से और अपने इतिहास पर नजर डालें, तो लगभग हर अश्वेत अमेरिकी की रगों में मिली-जुली संस्कृति है। लेकिन हमें यह सोचना बंद करना होगा कि एक औरत की खूबसूरती उसके उस हिस्से से आती है जो अश्वेत नहीं है।

In this generation, it's sad to see so many black girls claiming ethnicities that they know nothing about in hopes of impressing a man or appearing 'exotic'. So many people act as if being black and beautiful is impossible. It's not. If we wanna get technical and look at our history, almost every black American is mixed. But we must stop implying that a woman's beauty comes from a part of her that is not black.
