अगर वे इलस्ट्रेटर (चित्राकार) बनना चाहते हैं, तो कला में गहन प्रशिक्षण और कंप्यूटर के इस्तेमाल का कोई विकल्प नहीं है। प्रकाशन के क्षेत्र में ऐसी कई सहायक नौकरियां मिल जाती हैं जिनसे इस क्षेत्र में पैर जमाने का मौका मिल जाता है, और आज के दौर में ऐसा कोई डिजाइनर नहीं है जिसे कंप्यूटर का उपयोग न करना पड़े। लेकिन इसके साथ ही उन्हें ड्राइंग (चित्रकारी) करना भी सीखना होगा। मैं थोड़े पुराने विचारों का हूँ। मुझे लगता है कि बुनियादी कौशलों का कोई विकल्प नहीं है
If they want to be illustrators, there's no substitute for a very intensive training in art, and also the use of computers. There are adjunct jobs that are available in publishing that get your foot in the door, and there isn't a designer that doesn't have to use the computer these days. But they have to learn how to draw as well. I'm old-fashioned. I think there's no substitute for basic skills
