राष्ट्र-राज्य लोकतांत्रिक शासन व्यवस्था का समाधान नहीं हैं। कुर्द लोगों के लिए भी यही बात लागू होती है। इसे समाधान के रूप में देखना ऐसा ही है जैसे डूबते समय पानी पीने की कोशिश करना। असली ज़रूरत पानी की नहीं, ऑक्सीजन की है। समाधान यह है कि पानी से बाहर निकलकर लंबी साँस ली जाए, राष्ट्र-राज्य की अवधारणा को कम किया जाए और सामाजिक लोकतंत्र को बढ़ाया जाए। इसलिए एक राज्य के रूप में हमारी माँगे एक सामाजिक और गहराई से जुड़ी हुई लोकतंत्र व्यवस्था से ज़्यादा कुछ नहीं हैं।
